Its funny when people take you literally. I was at the barbers this morning, always a joy to get my haircut, especially seeing that it is two months since I last had it cut…..My lovely Mohawk had got to the point where my boyfriend was calling it “fluffy”, never a good sign.
Anyway I digress. MOST OF THE TIME!
My barber was chatting about their new apprentice. He sent him out to pick up posh coffee from the local coffee shop. I commented on how nice it was to have someone to do “jobs” for you, with a smirk.
He then told me it wasn’t always a good idea to send a young person out without SPECIFIC instructions. A colleague had sent the apprentice out to get some fruit for his lunch. He asked him to get a banana, and apple and one more piece of fruit. The apprentice duly put on his coat and went to pick up the lunches.
He came back with a banana, an apple and……………A LEMON!
A LEMON! just the kind of fruit that you sit there and eat: a LEMON lol
Bless him, unfortunately the barber didn’t eat it…..he should have sent him back to the shop for a bottle of Gin and a bottle of tonic, to go with the lemon!
SO a word of advice….when sending someone shopping for your lunch BE SPECIFIC! or you might end up feeling SOUR!
